Sundowners

Wherever you go in the world it's called something different. That oh so thoroughly enjoyed beverage at the end of the day. Cocktail hour? Aperitif? Happy hour? South Africans call them Sundowners. We learned this as our guide set up a not so roughing it posh tailgate table with every choice you could probably desire at that moment. We sipped and watch the sun go down over the safari Great Plains of Africa.

Of course, I instantly fell in love with this name, as sunsets are one of my favorite things to chase, along with finding a good Gin Tonic. From then on, cocktail hour will always be known as Sundowners to me..
